deftones

Glassjaw was an o.k. opener, nothin terrible, but at the same time nothing that special either.

The place was defintely packed, sweaty bodies everywhere, which is of course a good thing. The backdrop was the black with the colored lights that shaped the word "deftones" and that picture of the white pony.

The Deftones show opened up with "Be Quiet and Drive", during which the crowd went absolutely nuts. Chino was wearing a light blue tshirt and khaki pants. Other songs the 'tones played were "Bored", "My Own Summer", "Feticiera", "Digital Bath", "Mascara", "Around the Fur", "Change", "7 Words", when a huge mosh pit erupted right in front. "7 Words" had to have been the craziest song of the night, mosh pits everywhere. The final song of the night was "Headup", where Chino dived right into the crowd, he came within about 5 feet of me, it was so cool.

Overall the show was awesome. Every song they played was a classic, and they mixed mosh and non-mosh songs perfectly so the crowd could take a breather. There wasn't an unhappy camper in the whole place. They went over well with the crowd, especially when they made a reference to "that certain band from Des Moines", which is of course Slipknot. Overall, it was time well spent, even though i drove 3 hours to see the show. It was definetly worth the drive from Davenport, which is a place the Deftones need to visit sometime (hint hint). But anyways, awesome show, awesome songs, awesome bands. DEFTONES RULE!
