Deftones Concert Review

July 30, 1998 - Philadelphia, PA

Well I just saw the Deftones yesterday, July 30, at the Warped Tour in Philly. Anyway we got there at 12:00 right before the Aquabats came on, (who, despite being a ska band, actually were very good, they have a good stage show).... ANyway the Deftones didn't come on until 4. They followed Kid Rock, who is some type of Limp Bizkit rip off and was absolutely horrible. So the Deftones came on and it had to be the second biggest crowd at the entire show (EVERYONE watched Rancid.) The set, in order, was:

They were really good except for Be Quiet and Drive, which for some reason didn't end up sounding very good. Chino really got the crowd into it during Headup, half the people were screaming "Walk in to this world! With your head up high!" and it was really cool. But the pit wasn't very bad either so that was good because I don't like pits. All in all a great show I just wish the Deftones (and some of the other bands) got more than 1/2 an hour.
