after a long wait outside in the cold they finally opened the doors and everybody sat around the stage until the lights go off and everybody jumped up at once. Taproot came out and i wasnt expecting much from them because i heard they sucked during the tour but they surprised me and they played really well. the songs i remember them playing were "smile" "I" "again and again" I think they played about 6 songs but im not sure. They werent bad, i could see what people meant though, they didnt play the crowd too much, but it wasnt like they looked as if they didnt want to be there. It mightve been during "I" when stephen actually ran around the venue up to the bleachers where people were sitting and watching and he was singing up there that was pretty kewl. It was also funny when he went in the mosh pit and came out and called us some hardcore southern motherfuckers. After taproot came the standard half hour wait for equipment set up, but that wasnt that bad considering everybody except stephen came out and signed autographs, even though my ticket stub was all i had, oh well. I got Phil's on the back and Jarrod and Mike's on the front. then incubus comes out. before this i wasnt a big fan of incubus, but after seeing them live ive in a way changed my thoughts about them. They put on a hell of a show, brandon at times strapped on a drum and was slamming the shit out of it. you could tell the band was giving their all to the music, especially brandon. He was all over the place, beating the shit out of the drum, singing w/ everything he had. They had a good light show too. They closed with pardon me and it was a nice moment because everybody in the crowd knew the song and was singing along. Then another wait, they brought down a big ass red white pony banner to cover the stage so you couldnt see what was going on. I could see chino, stef and chi backstage though while they were setting up equipment. Chino was smoking a cigarette i think and i dont know what stef was doing but chi was drinking a beer. Surprisingly enough during this whole time i managed to hold my spot at the front. Finally the moment we had all been waiting for, the lights go down, the filler music stops and you see the technicians counting together 1......2.........3 and BAM the pull the banner down and its the deftones. The busted out into korea first, and i was like holy shit im finally here! chi's hair was all over the place. I think after this song they played Feiticeira. Its hard to remember the order of the songs but i know they played digital bath, be quiet and drive, change (chi put so much emotion into this song it looked like he was crying), teenager (which had a fuckin awesome light show), my own summer, bored, root, im pretty sure they played fireal, mx (which i didnt think they would play but it was fuckin tight because he had the crowd sing abe's wife's part and the second chorus we sang chinos part which was kewl although i felt that not enough people knew the words). During all this time they stopped periodically to talk to the crowd and chi had a bottle of beer on a speaker and drank from it in between songs, but he was really nice he threw bottles of water to the crowd. Near the end of the show they played knife party and chino got up in my side of the crowd and everybody was grabbing him it was great. then they played lotion and everybody went nuts, and they closed with headup and the crowd got even more crazy, then the walked off the stage but they came back and played engine number 9 and then 7 words and in the middle of 7 words they broke off into say it aint so from weezer which was great because the whole crowd was singing w/ them. and then they finished 7 words and it was over. It was so kewl though, they put on an awesome show. everybody go see them you wont regret it, one of the best nights of my life and i hope it was for one of my best friends because it was his birthday (hope you had a good one aaron), some birthday present huh? Hell of a show to say the least
