November 29, 1998 - Detroit, MI - State Theatre by Ted Matherly - Jemather@concentric.net I attended the Detriot Michigan show on November 29th, 1998. I got busted at the front door with my camera, fortunately it was a disposable. When we arrived, Snapcase had already started up. Snapcase and Quicksand were pretty weak, I didn't really care for their music, and I didn't think either were mixed very well. In both bands all you could really hear were the vocals. My friend and I arrived late and we missed the first half of Snapcase. We didn't go into the pit, and so we set up on the stairs to the side of the stage. I couldn't see Abe very well, but the show was really good. They played (in order) Lotion, My Own Summer, Root, Nosebleed, MX, Engine No. 9, Mascara, Teething, 7 Words, Bored, Birthmark, Dai the Flu, Some sort of really mellow song that reminded me of Fist but it wasn't, Be Quiet and Drive, and closed with Headup. My friend and I were dissappointed that they didn't play any covers or anything unusual, but it was still an awesome show, and it was definitely worth $20.
