I went to the Deftones concert at the Moore Theater in Seattle on December 12.I got to the Moore Theater an hour early.After being checked by a metal detector,Iwent to stand in line.Iwas the fourth person in line!Deftones shirts were on sale as were their awesome new jackets.After about 15 minutes the doors opened and people rushed in. The inside of the Moore Theater is ballroom style with a ground,and two large balconys above.The openng band was snapcase,a wannabe Deftones band.But they got the crowd moving.The problem with the theater is that the first row of seats is only 5 feet away from the barrier!So moshing space was limited.But I still managed to go crazy,getting my tailbone badly bruised on a chair handrest.After a few songs,the next band was Quicksand.They obviously had a following of middle aged women clapping along with the music.I found they sounded like Radiohead with a distortion pedal.Finally,after what seemed like forever,the red and silver Deftones banner was unfurled. Trippy guitar solo sounds filled the room.Suddenly,a light show started and the Deftones walked out!We now had probably 500 people in a mosh pit space that was meant for 100.I croud surfed,moshed,beat the shit of everyone and got the shit beaten out of me.The smell of pot,beer,sweat,and excitement was everywhere.Chino did one really long stage dive.The band threw water botlles into the pit.I don't remember th exact order of the playlist but here are some of the songs played.

>BORED-Chino was very active and very emotional.(my favorite)

>7 WORDS-Got the pit doing the chorus. Screamed my fucking lungs out.

>Engine no.9-The pit went crazy.

>BE QUIET AND DRIVE(FAR AWAY)-Chino got the crowd singing "I don't care where just far"as he would sing "away....."

>MY OWN SUMMER(SHOVE IT)Once again Chino got the crowd singing. He would scream and the crowd would scream "shove it,shove it,shove it."

>NOSEBLEED-This song is good on cd but its sooooooooo much better live.I think this is when Chino did his stge dive.THe pit sang the WHOLE song with Chino.

I don' really remember the rest I just remember moshing,surfing,etc. A word to the wise if you can stay on the left side of the stage.Chino goes out there ALOT and the band throws shit out to people right next to the left speaker.If you havent been to a Deftones concert,GO!!!!!!! There is no other feeling like it.The bass shaking your chest,etc. All in all it's probably the best concert you can go to.And you can mosh no matter what size you are!
