April 26, 1999 - Milan, Italy - Magazzini Generali
by Christian - ssicko@ticino.com
on monday soulfy played at the magazzini generali in milan. m.g. is a
small club which used to be a warehouse. i think it was almost sold out.
around 800/1000 people were there basically just to see soulfly.
on this european tour soulfy don't have any permanet bands. for the gig
in milan skw opened the show. they were not bad but probably too much a
fear factory clone and anyway nobody cared about them.
at 9.30 soufly walked up on stage and they played a strong show even
though it was quite short. they played for around 1.15 hour. the setlist
was almost the same as the one that they played last year in milan and
basically around the world.
the crowd highlights were quilombo, bumba and territory. max cavalera
spoke a little bit in italian(he has some italian roots) too and he made
the fans happy. he just said vaffanculo la polizia(fuck the police) or
grazie milano,.... but for the fans was enough to adore him.
i was curious to see mikey(ex snot) and i have to say that he did good
job and at least he is a very down to earth guy not like logan mader who
was acting like a fucking god.
the setlist was(i think it's in order):
1eye for an eye
2no hope no fear
3spit(sepultura)
4bleed
5tribe
6refuse/resist(sepultura)
7straighthate(sepultura)
8quilombo
9bumba
10head up(deftones)/bodies(sex pistols)
11territory(sepultura)
12ain't no feeble bastard(discharge)
13the song remains insane
14no
after the show i've seen mikey and roy and i've got my ticket signed.
unfortunately max didn't showed up.
