Soulfly Members and Co. Start New Band

Soulfly pair Roya Mayorga (drums) and Mike Doling (guitar) have teamed up with bassist Tumor (Amen) plus the Onesidezero pair of vocalist Jason Radford and guitarist Levon Sultanian to form a band called Mothra. They already have two songs for download at www.mothra.netfirms.com. These are 'Nothing Left To Do' and 'Burnt Offerings'.

Soulfly, Puya Form Side Band

Quoting the PRP:
"Soulfly bassist Marcello D. Rapp and drummer Roy Mayorga recently teamed up with Puya guitarist Ramon Ortiz and Punch frontman Ikaro to record material for a new band dubbed Ankla. However, due to their upcoming touring plans with Soulfly, Rapp and Mayorga will not be permanent members of the group and their only involvement with the project was laying down their respective instrumental duties in the studio for the bands recently recorded three song demo, which they are currently shopping to interested record labels. "

New Album Information

Release date will be somewhere in May. In addition to new songs, it features covers of Pailhead's 'I Will Destroy' and Sacred Reich's 'One Nation'; the latter features guest appearances from the Reich's own Greg Hall (drums) and Wiley Arnett (guitar).

Trust me - we're as confused as you. PimpRockPalace has reported that Roy Mayorga will only record with Soulfly, but is still an official member of Medication and subsequently will not join Cavalera's band.

Medication drummer Roy Mayorga has confirmed he did not rejoin Soulfly. In an email to Blabbermouth, he stated “I’m still with Medication, not Soulfly. That’s all you need to know. And I am doing the tour with Medication in England. These are some serious rumors... It shook my band a bit, so I would appreciate it if you could print that these rumors are false."

Roy Mayorga Replaces Nunez as Soulfly Drummer

Roy Mayorga, the original drummer of Soulfly, has come back and replaced Joe Nunez, the leaving drummer. Mayorga will join the band in the studio after he finishes his upcoming tour with his current band Medication.

In other news, bassist Marcelo D. Rapp is not leaving the band as previously suggested by several sources.
